’Tis the season to celebrate the best of 2014, and our “Best of 2014” list focuses on our staff’s favorite websites of the year. Check out which websites our Bloomington, Indiana, website designers and programmers selected as their favorites:
Michael Budd
President
Favorite website: http://www.frenchlickwinery.com
Why: “I think this site demonstrates our best integration of brand and design into a WordPress theme. It can be a trade off battle between design, branding, programming and Content Management Systems like WordPress. I think this site is as good as it gets.
“WITZ AMFM (www.witzamfm.com/) so is my honorable mention. Here it is what you don’t see that is so cool. WordPress and a series of plugins repurpose news content both local and national for the website, blog, newsletter and even into the DJ both for on air presentation. An elegant blend of traditional and new media. This site is also the best demonstration of a clients limitless vision with the awesome abilities of our technical web designers and programmers. Jim had a vision, and, although you can’t see it, its promise it came out awesome.”
Cheryl Budd
Owner
Website: http://www.streicherconstruction.com
Why: “I think the Streicher Construction site is a really good portfolio site. We were asked to show the wide variety of work they do and I think we did a good job presenting it on the website after our 3-day photo shoot in Jasper, Indiana.”
Eric Cox
Web Master & Art Director
Website: thetrojanhorse.com
Why: “After years of maintaining this site without a CMS (content management system) and with two versions (desktop & mobile), it was really nice to move it into a CMS and add a responsive design (one site fits all devices). Restaurant menus can be tedious to maintain when a site has multiple versions. Adding the responsive design allowed us to simplify the maintenance of the website while adding a better experience for the end user.”
